Earth Science/Astronomy Page #2 of 2
< ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------->
Congratulation, you have found the Physical Science Teacher Web Resource Page for Earth Science/Astronomy - Page #2!  On this page you will find additional descriptions of many great resources pertaining to Earth Science/Astronomy.

Resource #3

Discovery School Earth Science

This web site was created by Discovery School, the people behind the Discovery Channel.  There are a lot of lesson plans on this site.  They are broken down into grade levels, such as k-5, 6-8, and 9-12.  I have found that most of the lessons under 6-8 can even be used in a high school classroom.

Resource #4

USGS Lesson Plans and Activities

This site was created by the U.S. Geological Survey.  This site is nice because they provide teaching packets to supplement the teaching units on faults, volcanoes, and mapping.

Resource #5

The Science Spot

This is a wonderful site to check out if you are teaching an earth science class.  It was developed in 1999 by Tracy Trimpe, a science teacher at Havana Jr. High in Illinois.  From the main page, you can click on the Science Classroom link.  There is an Earth Science link on the Science Classroom page.  Clicking on the link will bring you to downloadable earth science lesson plans and Internet activities.  The homepage also has links to pages with science references, daily trivia, a puzzle corner, technology ideas, etc.
I wonder if they used the metric system for their measurements?
