SMILE stands for Science and Mathematics Initiative for Learning Enhancement.  It was designed to assist in the teaching of elementary and high school math and science.  This web site has close to 200 lesson plans on anatomy and physiology, zoology, botany, microbiology, genetics, environmental biology, ecology, and biochemistry.

Ask Noah About Genetic Disorders

NOAH stands for New York Online Access to Health.  The above link will take you to information they have compiled on various genetic disorders.  This site goes over the basics of genetics.  It has a glossary of terms and genetic diseases, information on living with different diseases, and genetic counseling.  The site has information on a plethora of genetic diseases.  This sight is extremely helpful because it has information in Spanish as well as in English.

Human Genome Project Information

There are 3 pages on this site that are extremely useful in the high school biology class.  Clicking on the About the HGP link will bring up information on the human genome project.  The education link will be extremely useful for teachers, as well as students.  There you can find valuable resources including posters, videos, teaching aids, etc.  The ethical, legal, and social issues link is self explanatory.
