Administrative Committee Meeting

Present: John Quintero, Sheila McClellan, Vern Morley, Sandy Frost

Absent:   John Swarr, Bob Love

 

 

The committee approved minutes of the meetings on 9/24/05, 10/04/05, 10/25/05, 11/29/05 and 01/30/06 with amendment to the minutes from the officers’ meeting of October 4, 2005; amendment specifically stating that the officers have approved John Quintero to research and apply for grants and other sources of income, with John receiving salary for his employment.   The approved and amended minutes will be submitted to John Hazen and Peter Shen for posting on the HCG web page.

 

John submitted a list of grants that he has located and will pursue; see attachment.  The committee formally approved John Quintero to pursue the specifically listed grants as well as others.  The importance for pursuit of grant funding was noted and agreed upon as building staff for self-sufficiency and to cover administrative costs.

 

Rosemarie Hinds-London has agreed to continue with her participation on the Administrative Committee.  We look forward to seeing her at the next meeting.

 

Recruitment for administrative assistance has resulted in resume submission from Theresa Alexander who expressed interest in managing the greenhouse.   As well, she has excellent business accounting and computer skills.   It was suggested that Ms. Alexander come to the gardens so we could meet and interview her. 

 

Tickets will be printed for the spring fiesta to be held on Saturday, April 8.
