Origin Of The Hayseeds
Our story begins not long ago, far back in the wooded mountains of North Carolina. An inbred family of genetic throwbacks known as the Whistlers lived in a small log cabin that had been in their family for generations. Locals who lived in a small town several miles from the cabin affectionately called them the "Hayseeds". The Hayseeds consisted of four family members: Deadeye, the father. A man with one good eye and another that was glazed and white like an old corpse. His gaunt body had paper-thin skin the same color as his rotten eye. But old Deadeye had been gifted; his aim with any projectile weapon was unerring. And no matter how much damage his withered form took it would grow back within seconds. There was Hexx, the mother. An ugly old woman with tangled white hair and only three teeth in her head. But her skills with mountain magic and charms made her a dangerous woman to cross. Deadeye and Hexx had two children, their daughter; called Plug-Ugly, was gruesome to look upon. She had bright red hair that stood on end. Where she had hair, as large patches of baldness dotted her scalp. Plug also had wire-like facial hair growing randomly on her upper-lip and chin. Her face itself looked twisted and malformed, with misshapen eyes and lips. This sick example of womanhood could drain the life from any creature she touched. Drawing its health into her. She often did this instead of eating actual food. Also while her high-pitched voice was scratchy and irritating, if she screamed the sound would shatter your ears and cause actual physical harm. Lastly was their son, everyone called him Mad or Mad Mountaineer. Mad was a hulking fellow who liked to wear just his stained overalls, and straw hat. Mad had a thick wild beard and mustache that hide most of his face in its black mass. He also loved smoking his corncob pipe, and drinking the familys homemade whiskey. Some say it was the drinking of this poorly distilled swill that gave him his trademark temper, others say it was because his family tree didn't branch as much as it should. But either way none wanted to see him, even on his best day. Mad's skin was a tough as a rhino's hide, and he had the strength to crush boulders in his bare hands. They lived tucked away in their cabin with nothing that benefited from technology less then a hundred years old, for most of their squalid lives. Until one day...
As the nearby town grew in size, the sounds of daily modern life continued to grow in the woods around the Whistlers' cabin. Until one day, raging on a mixture of moonshine and kerosene, Mad thundered into the nearby town and began leveling buildings, smashing cars, and generally destroying anything he perceived to be an annoyance. Which was most everything. As luck would have it a hero, who had also been gifted with great strength and thankfully, a better disposition was visiting this small town from New York City. This hero was the mighty member of the Fantastic Four known as the Thing. The battle that followed was short and devastating. In the end the Thing defeated Mad and had him sent to New York Cities maximum-security prison, as it is one of the few places on Earth that can hold beings of such incredible strength. The Thing ended his vacation early and returned home to see to it the Mad Mountaineer didn't escape before being incarcerated.
Weeks went by and the rest of the Hayseeds started to get worried about what had happened to Mad. So one night they went into town and found an unlucky resident walking home from work. Within minutes he told them of Mad's fate, and who had delivered it to him. Their tender mercies left little more then a savaged pile of bloody remains once they knew what had transpired. Bent on revenge the trio made for New York City to free their beloved Mad, and to exact revenge on the one that sent him away...
