I grew up on the west coast in gum boots
and a yellow rain coat. I guess its not surprising that I would be
drawn to fire after so many years of being soggy. ( Don't get me wrong
I love it here). I'm 22 now, an artist, traveler, organic farmer,
fire dancer and stilt walker. The last two are relatively new in my
life, a bunch of events that came from left field and sent me on a
crazy adventure I wasn't expecting, I love that about life, just when
you think its becoming predicable, you get hit in the head with a
fire staff, and there you go, life changes. I started spinning staff
in May and learned how to stilt walk at about the same time. I've
played around with poi a bit and made a set of fire fingers, but I
keep coming back to staff. Single staff, double staff, short and long.
I love its versatility, how it can glide between dance and martial
arts. It's inspired me to seek training in both. I am ever thankful
that I've met such a beautiful group of people. Fire inspires and
attracts such passion.
