| *Venice* We arrived at the train station and the only way to our accomadation was by boat. In fact the only way to get around is by boat. Food supplies and mail all came in on little canal boats. |

| Venice didn't feel as authentic as Florence or Rome with swarms of Britts, Burger King, McDonalds and Gucci shops lining the canals - but it was definately heaps of fun. Its a good place to relax, drink & eat out. |

| Venice went off like a rocket the night Italy won the world cup. We watched it at a local place with a T.V temporarly perched on a wine barrel. Im not a soccer person, and Nat would rather stab a fork in her eye than watch it - but we both agreed it was cool to watch. This picture was taken in the streets just after they won - It seemed like a riot was going to break out - people were banging pots and pans until breakfast time |

| We then caught a train down to Ancona for a night and caught a 4 hour high speed ferry to Split in Croatia. The other ferry took over 10 hours and cost the same?. This is a picture of the front right hand side (its 4x bigger over 2 levels). They served a mean lunch and there were plenty of couches to sleep on. | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
