Product List:  A Hawthorn invoice dated October 2, 1900 lists twelve products:

Butter Pots

Dutch Pots

Bean Pots

Milk Pans

Stew Pans

Mixing Bowls

Fruit Jars

Pres. Jars

Tie Jars

Jugs

Cuspidors

This list does not seem to be all-inclusive.  The accompanying article on this web site, from the June 30, 1976 edition of the New Bethlehem (PA) Leader-Vindicator also lists water coolers, umbrella stands, pitchers, and some decorative items.  Other sources show that Hawthorn produced butter churns, vitrified acid jars, and other less common products.  You can see photos of many of these more exotic items at http://members.aol.com/karriedean/pottery.htm  This site also contains an interesting article about Hawthorn Pottery, including a photo of the original pottery works and a photo of some pottery workers.

On its invoices, Hawthorn identified itself as “Manufacturers of Bristol Glazed Stoneware”.  Bristol Glaze was a replacement or a refinement for the older-style lead glaze process.  Specifically, Bristol Glaze originated in 19th century Bristol, England, when less toxic zinc oxide was used to replace raw lead as a flux, hence the name "Bristol Glaze". These glazes were more resistant to abrasion, weathering and
chemical attack and gave good hues of blue and green.  You can read more about this glazing process at http://www.potters.org/subject01217.htm
