Northern Notes
A blog about the Calgary Vipers of the Northern League
Bring out the brooms!
What a great way to get the season going for the Vipers. The hitting has been outstanding and clutch, the pitching hasn't been perfect but has held up enough for the bats to make it a Calgary win.

One less than perfect situation is that I haven't been able to listen to any Vipers baseball yet this year. I knew that with the switch from Fan 960 to QR 77 there would be less over air broadcasting (although from the looks of things the Vipers will be web only this year).
But I did expect to be able to hear them on line. I guess that they didn't send out Patrick Haas to Illinois to see the Jackhammers get whupped, and because of a Jackhammer website redesign, the link to their web cast that the Vipers and QR provided the day after opening day didn't work.
Well, hopefully things will be sorted out for Monday's game versus Fargo. It's great that they go into that game in first place in the division. Hopefully they will keep that status going into Opening Day on Friday.
It'll be interesting to be back at Foothills working. I haven't hawked there since the Calgary Outlaws of the short lived CBL died mid season. Maybe because I haven't had a tray to sell and people to yell at for a few weeks, since the Flames and Hitmen were done for the year, but I'm already getting a bit excited about the prospects starting on Friday.
