Northern Notes
A blog about the Calgary Vipers of the Northern League
Beginnings

The Vipers are about to start their third season in Calgary, and I've decided (at the invitation of the club) to go back there and hawk a bit. Given that, I'm reactivating my website, and doing this 'blogging' all the kids are on about (of course, I was doing this 10 years ago, but anyhoo...).

You have to give the Vipers ownership credit. If nothing else, they have put more of their money into Foothills Stadium than the Parkers did the last bunch of years they had the Cannons. A better stadium is one of the keys to making the Vipers viable. A good team on the field is another, and the big question mark for the Vipers this year will be the pitching, with almost total turnover from last year. Getting groups out to the park, and making it fun to be there off the field is up to the non baseball operations staff, and hopefully that will come together as well. Of course having good hawkers in the stands will help that atmosphere...Above is a pic of the renos...sorry it's of Foothills in the rain, but hopefully we won't have to worry about that on Opening Day.
