Imperative to Any Rpers, You'll Read this Sooner or Later
Ok quick post, I can't really fool around here.
Ayenee Government, Good Idea.
Every five months, we set up a safe site to vote on, just about no one can tamper with the results. Have it go on for a week, then shut down the polls. Or even better, set up two e-mail addresses for voting either way. Two presidents would be chosen, with each his own choice of staff. Both presidents can choose the same Chief of Defense, so it's not like we have to pick an idiot or someone we hate. There would be two parties, radical and conservative. So, if big changes are needed, we choose the right person. But how do we nominate a president? An Ayenee Congress. We take fifteen people to judge on judicial matters, presidential nominations, passing laws, declaring war, etc. They are the justice department and Congress of the American government compacted into one. They would be elected every year. Unlike a president, these people NEED experience in office, not leaving every time someone takes a piss. How they would be elected by is this, party selection. We have five-ten parties of five (no, that wasn't a crappy reference) based on the issues and views of the people. The five parties I'm thinking of are these:
Elder- Supporting anything that will make Ayenee back the way it was in it's "glory" days
Modern - Wanting to make Ayenee more expansive, looking ahead, not back
Indifferent - Takes the public opinion, not a new idea, couldn't care about what they themselves think
Adamant - Always want the public to follow orders
Patriot - Believes in rules, just not anything that could restrain daily public actions, such as anti-massacre, pro-free speech
This allows the party and people to be based on their ideas, not useless slander campaigns. We need people who are moral and respected, not politicians. The main basis is that it's not who you are, it's what you can do.
The president would be only there for the extra opinion and bringing in new ideas. The Ayenee Congress would meet once a week, something like that. The Congress leader, elected by his peers, would be sent a list of things to vote on/talk about, by the President, during the meeting. The President would be able to declare war, pardon criminals, veto actions of the congress, and deal with the public. As a check on the President, Ayenee Congress can (with a vote of more then 7/8 or greater than 13 people) fire the President, with good cause.
The President is mainly a fresh view of the public so the Congress won't be made of stiff-assed elders. He would be advised by three aids of Defense, Justice, and State. The Defense aid would help him determine the status of the state relations and if a "call to arms" would be needed. (EX: Nerimian threat) The Justice aid would be a check on the Congress, helping the president on declaring pardons and determining laws. The State aid would be a public check for the President, someone to help him stay in touch with the public opinion and state of the union.
Every month the President has to address a few people to spread the word on how Ayenee is doing. This can help public opinion on many levels. If people know what's going on, they think they are getting their "money's/vote's" worth. And finally, the why . . .
Why? It's simple. This would be the ultimate realism kick in the ass. We aren't a bunch of pervs, geeks and rpers, WE'RE A F**KIN' COUNTRY (Real online community)! I took me two weeks to recruit an army to fight in the Digital War, a war concerning EVERYONE in Ayenee, and people still don't know about it. Why? Two reasons. 75% of Ayeneers don't know anything about our "loose federation of people" and that if someone posts something important, no one reads it (or they do and just keep it to themselves). Right now, I spend 45% of my rping time reading posts and listening to others. How else would I know that people want to put this idea into practice? But, sometimes, I go offline for weeks at a time and can't read everything. So, the only way to get it into people? Constant news lines. If a President is announcing things every month to a few people, we NEED reporters and news people. Like the kid in the old movies that screams headlines on the corner of the busy street. We should have an hour on the hour news feed. Someone announces the news in a tavern at the top of every hour, like a tender. I heard the idea of a newspaper come up. . I support it! Give me a link, it's on my page in a second.
Finally, this is going to be great if everyone supports it. Also, did we every declare Ayenee as an "Rping World/Country"? We would need a government then? A Maus board is NOT what I call a government. If you support this, I'm going to write up a short list of government rules, like the Constitution, if I may. Unless anyone wanted it, I wouldn't be a President anyway. I'd rather be a military leader, because that IS my field, not politics. The government would cause us to form an army/militia, as well. This is a better idea then the APD, it's controlled by someone with a Ayenee wide name, so they know who to complain to. Alright, I'll leave you to pick this apart and wait for my next idea: An Actual Ayenee Economy.

What was the Digital War?
It was a three-four month skirmish between two forces over the existence of Humans in Ayenee. One side wanted to "kill alla' humans", while the other side, made up of humans, fought for survival. No one cared about the war because this was before anyone cared about story lines (or other people).
Why do you say Digital Wars in plural? Wasn't it only one? If there was two, why do you only talk about one?
Because I'd rather forgot "two" even happened. Everyone else can. . .
Two was a simple "war on paper" between the NHA, Falcon, and myself. The first two were corrupt and going mad with power, I just kicked the crap out of 'em. It was the biggest organized "street fight" Ayenee has even not known about. It was the pinnacle of Hawk. I was a hero to my peers and a great leader to my troops. We killed the opposition, dismantled our corrupt "alliance", and took down our own leaders, that were money grubbing assholes.
Can I have a Digital War tranny?
No. They are none. Only three or four major battles were fought legally in Ayenee. It was a crude way of fighting but, we did it. I was the only one who would have save them and I didn't.
Huh? Only three or four?
In total, the "battles" couldn't have been counted. There were maybe twelve major battles. Seeing a number gap? The reason was that the war was fought in three places, using like an intergaming plane. The three were Ayenee (10%)/Quake 2 Demo (40%)/Starcraft (50%). This made the fighting easier, taking the huge masses out of the picture. That's why I say that this space war should be fought in a demo of like Freespace or Starcraft. If you can enhance Ayenee by putting in a skill in a field other then english and typing, do it. Variety is good and change is good, unless they are bad.
How many people really fought in the Digital War?
Really, I don't know. Every day, I commanded the same guys, but there were people coming into the rooms just to fight, no matter which side. If you think you fought in the war, drop me a line and I'll talk to you about it.
Will you let me into your storyline?
Yes. I have said this, as long as you check with me, I will let anyone create a character with a Digital War related past. This is because if you think this could help you, so be it. I know who really fought and who didn't, that's what matters to me.
