| The "Any Minute Now" left out of Lynnhaven early Saturday morning. Once again, yours truly, "The Fat Man" at the helm with "The Old Man", "The Kid", and "CBTroutMan" aboard. We spent about a half hour up crab creek without using the paddle to toss the cast net for bait (and got a mix of about 30). | ||||||||||||||||||||||||

| We fished from 6:30 to 3:30 1st and 2nd Islands and loaded 5 keeper flounder into the box. Headed for the Small Boat Channel for a final 1 hour topper to try for 1 more keeper. On the way, there was quite a discussion as to how many flatties we actually threw back - we had caught DOZENS of fish that were just way too small. At the SMB, we caught several more small flatties we had to throw back, then tied into a small school of nice-sized spot. Caught several in just a few minutes, and here's the kicker - they were going into a feeding frenzy on SQUID! Anyway, plenty of quick action, a lot of fun, and some excellent cut bait for the next trip! |

| The final wrap-up: 5 Flounder from 17.5 to 23" are gonna make for some fine eating. The final discussion on the way back home in the truck, we all agreed that we collectively caught 70 flounder this day. We also all agreed that the total count was probably higher, but nobody would believe us if we used a bigger number. We fished the heck out of the skates, too, with about 20 being the final total recall. We can verify 15 Spot - which went into the bait freezer only after verifing that 2 of them were only a few ounces short of paper. Yes! THAT big on SQUID!
