Had heard talk about "Storm" this and "Storm" that - finally bought a package of shad colored ones (oh, so daring) Saturday afternoon..
Headed out to the CBBT at 6:00 am. Saw some gulls just outside the Lynnhaven Inlet, right next to the channel, and took a couple of shots - the Old Man pegged a really nice blue, close to 2 pounds.
Knowing it was blues and not Mr. Striper, fired on out to the small boat channel and started chunking up nuthin'. Went to 1st/2nd Island tunnel and anchored up just above the boil.
2nd cast with that shad colored Storm and the fight was on - light tackle medium 7 1/2 foot shimano and an ambassadeur with 12 lb test. What a blast pulling in a 23 1/2 incher. Finally, a legal striper! Followed up five minutes later by a 20 1/2 incher.
