Hawthorn Cottage THULU is a progeny of the in N.S.W. well known Coliban Valley ACE OF SPADES. With his now diseased half brother GRAND DUKE he was a dominant animal in the black classes in shows in the Sydney area. In 1997/98 season his fleece won the supreme championship at the Picton and Albion Park shows. In 1999 his lustrous blue black fleece was reserve champion in the intermediate class at the Sydney Royal Easter show, not a bad feat with the large competition of white and fawn alpacas of peruvian background. Notwithstanding his age of 6 years when last shorn and after a healthy diet of lucerne hay he still has a fleece of under 28 microns!

This is the most friendly stud male we have ever seen. He sometimes thinks he is a dog and sits next to us in the paddock or rolls next to us. But not only does he have a good character, he has a good fleece as well which retaines it's micronage, a feat desired by many breeders. We did not have much work for him and up to now he has only sired a solid white male cria. The happy owners assured us that the male is of an outstanding quality. He is sired by Cedar House ouwned Peruvian JACOMO and his dam is Suricaya MY FAIR LADY who at a ripe old age of 10 yrs still produces a fleece of under 27 microns!
