Canine Cooler Pads
Canine Cooler Pads are a "must" when our dogs have to endure hot weather. They cool the dog down beautifully, anywhere - while travelling, at shows, at home, anywhere your dog is and it is hot a cooler pad should be there for him also.  They are reuseable, easy to store away, and will stay cool for days upon days, even in extreme heat.  They will not wet the dog, therefore they are ideal to use on long coated dogs even before they are to enter the show ring.  Your cooler pad can also be refrigerated, but must never be placed in the freezer.
When you get your cooler pad it will look somewhat like a flat pillowcase.  You will be able to feel small rice like granules which have been sewn into the enclosed compartments.  The little polymer crystals inside the pad are what do the job of cooling your dog.  These crystals are non toxic & PH neutral.
Prior to using your cooler pad it will need to be activated. To do this you will fill a sink or bucket with enough cold water to cover your cooler pad. Place your cooler pad into the cold water and let it soak until the crystals enlarge and your flat, pillow case looking pad will now look like a blown up mattress. Soaking time can vary to suit your needs but I recommend a minimum of 30 minutes and a maximum of 45 minutes. The longer you soak your pad the plumper it will become. After your pad has been soaking for approx 15 minutes, remove it from the water and use your hands to evenly distribute the gel through each compartment. Return it to the water to finish soaking. Once it has finished activating remove the pad from the water and gently wrap/roll it in a dry towel to remove excess water. Now it is ready for use and can be used for days at a time.
Simply place your cooler pad on a waterproof surface where you want your dog to lay.  They are ideal inside show crates and trolleys.  They cool the dog as soon as he lies on them, no more panting, no more feeling stressed and uncomfortable - your dog will thank you for it.
When you have finished using the cooler pad hang it out to dry under shelter. It may take several days for it to dry.  It should be placed outdoors to dry, but not where rain can get it.
When it is completely dry it will resume its original pillow case shape and size, simply fold it and store it away for use next time. It's as simple as that and very, very effective.
All cooler pads are made to order in whatever size you require.
