| Welcome to my 40 Gal. page. This tank was the tank that I had before I set up my 5.5 Gal. It was set up at the begining with a undergravel filter, some power heads, Emperor bio wheel HOB filter, Sea Clone Skimmer, and some coral rocks and dead coral. It was stocked with a few fish and banded shirmps and the tank looked plain and simple and not alive. But after searching and looking at many pictures of reef tanks I had to redo the tank. But before I invested more money into this 40 gal I wanted to make sure that I could keep a tank with live rocks and coral living. Now thats where the 5.5 came in to cut down in cost if I didnt succeed I would have spend tons of money on the live rocks. After doing my 5.5 and succeeding I slowly converted the 40 gal tank by disconnecting the underegravel filter to start. Than I decided to keep what ever coral rocks I had and use it as base rocks and all the live rocks are 100% hawaii rocks that I find washed up on shore on the beaches and these rock are full of life and covered with beutiful purple, maroon and green coraline algee. Currenty this tank is still not finshed. It is in the process of getting lighting up grade. |
