So Norma decided marriage and on June 19, 1942 Norma married her 21- year-old neighbor Jimmy Dougherty . They were happily married in till he was sent to the South Pacific in 1944. When Jimmy went away Norma took at job on a assembly line at the Radio Munitions factory in California . A photographer named David Conover saw her while taking pictures of the women in the war effort he was shocked to see Norma . After she was noticed by David, he started getting her modeling jobs . Through this time she contuined to model and in 1946 after Jimmy came back from the South Pacfic she then filled for dervoice . 2 months later she was signed Twentienth Century Fox .Where she earned $125 a week in small roles, soon after this time Norma dyed her hair blonde and changed her name to Marylin Monroe (which was her grandmother's
last name.
Marylin took small movie roles, But Marylin's big break didn't come till 1953 when she did the movie Niagara which put her name on the map. By the age of 27 and several movie later she was know as the vlonde bomb shell. On January 14, 1954 she married baseball lengend Joe DiMaggio at San Francisco's City Hall. They had been dating for two years. They had their honeymoon in Tokyo. In October 27, 1954 9 months after their marriage Marylin filled for Dervice because of career conflits.
By 1955 Marylin was ready to get rid of the Blonde shallow image. She started studying acting . She recvied a golden globe for Some like it hot. On June 29, 1956 married Arthur Miller. In 1962 Marylin was named female World Film Favorite .
August 5th, 1962 Marylin was found dead in her Calforina home she died at 36 . She was lied to rest on August 8th, 1962 in Corridor of Memories # 24 at Westwood Memorial Park in Los Angeles.
