ONLINE PHONE CARDS F & Q

Q. Why do I have to register to purchase a card?
A. You are now required to register before you can purchase a card because the registration system offers our customers many conveniences. It also makes it easier for Atlantic Phone Cards to monitor their members and inform them of changes to the site or the addition of products. Registration makes customer service much easier.

Q. How long will it take to register with Atlantic Phone Cards online?
A. Registration will take approximately one hour if you attempt to register during normal business hours (9am-5pm EST). If you are attempting to register during the night, your account will be activated the following morning.

Q. Which card should I purchase?
A. To determine which card you should purchase you first need to know where you are calling and how long you plan to talk.
We offer two types of cards. One card (MidAtlantic Star) has a connection fee and lower per minute rates versus the no connect fee (CallTime Card) card which has slightly higher per minute rates. If you are planning to make several short calls on one phone card, it would be wiser to purchase a no connection fee card. By purchasing a no connect fee card you eliminate the connect fee charge incurred with each new call made. If you are calling internationally and plan to use the entire card on one call, depending on the rates, a connect fee card may be your best purchase.
For Example: Ghana (MidAtlantic Rate) $0.07 a minute with $2.50 connect fee
Ghana (CallTime Rate) $0.166 a minute with no connection fee.
By purchasing a MidAtlantic $10.00 card and using it all in one phone call you would get 105 minutes of talk time. If you make multiple calls to Ghana on the same card, you will incur the connection fee each time you call. After you make two calls $5.00 of your card has gone to connection fees. By purchasing a CallTime $10.00 card and using it in one phone call you will only get 60 minutes. You would have given up 45 minutes of talk time. But, if you plan to call Ghana 6 times for 10 minutes each time you will have made a wiser purchase with the CallTime card because it has no connect fee. We also offer the AT&T card. It is a dependable no connect fee card. For customers primarily interested in having a phone card in their wallet for emergencies or making calls within the United States, this card is a good deal. It also offers some decent international rates.

Q. What if I have a problem with my phone card?
A. If you encounter a problem while using your phone card please call the customer service number included in the email you received with your pin number. MidAtlantic and CallTime phone cards have automated customer service available 24 hours a day in English and Spanish. If you need to speak to a customer service representative, you will have to call during their regular business hours, 9am- 5pm EST. If you attempt to resolve your problem with the automated system and cannot you can dial 0 and be connected with a customer service representative. Atlantic Phone Cards is a re-seller of phone cards, we do not own or operate the companies who produce these cards. If you encounter a problem you cannot resolve with customer service yourself, notify us via email and we will intercede on your behalf.

Q. How will I receive my pin number?
A. Your pin number will be delivered to you through email. The email will also contain directions for using the pin number as well as the customer service numbers for the phone card.

Q. How do I use my pin number?
A. Using your pin number is simple. You dial the 800 access number (follow the voice prompts) , enter your pin number, enter the number you wish to call and you will be told how many minutes you have. Have the pin number where you can see it well when entering. If entered too slowly, you will be told the pin number is invalid.

Q. Can I make calls from anywhere?
A. You can call from anywhere in the United States with any of our cards. MidAtlantic and CallTime may only be used for calls originating within the United States. If you are calling from Alaska or Hawaii and you want to purchase a card from this site, you will need to purchase the AT&T card.

Q. Do phone cards expire?
A. MidAtlantic and CallTime expire 3 months after initial use. The AT&T card has no expiration date.

Q. Why is there a surcharge to make calls from a payphone?
A. Payphone surcharges are federally mandated to protect the payphone owner. This ensures they will be compensated for the use of their phone.
