Yuna Macela

Aeris

Name: Yuna Macela

Age: 13

Position: Healer, first year.

Gifts: Moderate to strong Empathy (potential. Right now, it is only part way open)
Marginal Healing

Appearance: Yuna has shoulder length, wavy golden blonde hair. She leaves it down to frame her heart shaped face. Her eyes are faintly almond shaped. They are a bright, piercing green color, but at the same time, it gives a gentle effect. Her skin is tan, not like, super tan, just tan, like she spends a lot of time outdoors. The tone of her skin seems to soften the total outlook, despite the sharp nose, and minorly pointed chin, her face seems to have a soft quality to it.

Yuna isn’t very tall, only about five two, but she has presence, a fairly powerful one. She is slender, slightly built along with her semi shortness. Her hands are long, and fairly delicate. Her outfit generally consists of a short sleeve top and britches. In the winter, she may wear long sleeves, if she gets very cold. In summer, she may wear shorts, but never a skirt; they get in the way too much for her line of work, her mother's aid, she needed to be able to move quickly, and skirts don’t help that very much.

Personality: Yuna is a sweet, very gentle person. She hates seeing people in pain, and does enjoy helping them. She isn’t really very shy, just a little quiet; she watches a lot of things. She speaks when she must, but not very often other than that. She is far from a nervous person, and it takes a lot to shake her utter calm. She handles crisis fairly well.

When Yuna does get shaken, it takes a little while for her to calm down. She doesn’t really have a temper, and in any other life, or place, this would probably lead to her getting pushed around, but not in Haven…or at least, not in the Palace complex. Yuna is very patient, she doesn’t mind waiting for things to happen, she doesn’t mind that with many of her patients, it will take weeks – maybe longer- to show much progress at all. She is also not likely to give up on something once she has begun working on it.

Yuna is afraid of being a true failure, afraid of judging wrong, and truly hurting a patient (but that doesn’t stop her from doing her job) She is afraid of letting her mother down. Yuna more often than not keeps what she thinks to herself, which can cause problems when she should stand up for herself. Her lack of temper also leaves her at risk for being pushed around badly. She doesn’t get nervous easily, and she can be very determined. She thinks before she speaks, and most often keeps her thoughts to herself, rather than saying something that might anger someone.

Short Life Story:  Yuna has lived a quiet life. When she was very young she helped her mother with the patients they got in their small village. Her father was a black smith there in the village as well. They had a fair life, it wasn’t nearly as hard as many lives in small villages can be. Yuna had many friends in the village, so, when she wasn’t helping her mom, she was playing with friends.

When she was twelve her mother began to realize that she was more than just a pair of hands to help with herbs. She noticed a calming presence that always seemed to come from her daughter…and she knew that her child was an empath, she didn’t know that her daughter actually had the healing gift for another year, she watched Yuna handling an injured sparrow, Sarah Felt the energy coming from her daughter, and knew then, that her daughter needed to go to Haven. Sarah herself had never had formal classes, and still to that day, she regretted that fact, she didn’t want her daughter to have the same regret, so she is taking her to Haven. Yuna is to be tested, just to make sure, and then, she (hopefully) will be admitted to the Healer’s Collegium.

Family:
Sarah Macela: Mother, sweet, a healer – but she never went through the collegium.
Devin Macela: Father, kind, an easy person to get along with. A black smith.

Other:
Yuna likes to write poetry, she enjoys doing it to express herself, though she doesn’t allow many people to look at what she has written, for her, it is very private. She writes about her experiences, her life, and the lives of those she has known well. She writes of other things as well…but, well, you will have to see.
