Leannyn Driscolle
Evania
Name: Leannyn aka Lee
Age: 19 (m09/d08)
Position: Herald-Trainee - 3rd year
Gifts: Touchreading (Strong), Companion Mindspeech
Appearance: Her hair is a honey-wheat blond, straight, and feathered from
"bangs" that are about long enough to reach just past her chin, gradually
getting longer, the final length reaching about mid-back, and usually held back
in a long braid save for the bangs that always seem to fall out of it. Her eyes
are so dark a green that they almost look black, though on a vary rare occasion
they will lighten slightly with her mood. Her skin is palish porceline, smooth
and creamy, with the lightest smattering of frekles, barely noticible, right
along the edges of her cheeks near her temples.
Her frame is tall and lean, whipcord almost. Her limbs are long, the legs of a
runner, and arms to match in proportion, with agile, slender fingers. Her waist
is small, as are her hips a bit narrow, and her shoulders barely broader than
that. From behind, she in fact looks a bit like a straight board, instead of the
curves of a girl. She does have some signs of showing feminine curves, though
it's apparent that she'll never be amply supplied. However, she does seem to
possess a charm and inner beauty that can make up for her less than curvatious
outer form, and a sweet, pretty face as well.
Personality: What snobbery she may have once possessed has pretty much left her
personality. Her nature now is mostly quiet, but kind and friendly. She's
usually a very gentle, small smile on her face when in a good mood, and a sour,
professional glare when angered. Otherwise her expression is rather neutral,
neither this way nor that.
Lee generally relaxes around those she knows and trusts, and will even let go
enough to laugh and have fun. She becomes more talkative and lively then, joking
and dancing if the occasion calls for it.
Short Life Story: Her father is a jewel worker and metalworker in the
silver-smiths Guild, and though her mother was born of a simple, quiet past, he
wasn't. His father was a decently wealthy merchant, and apprenticed him into the
guild at a young age. Lee's mother was born poor of peasant stock, and had a
natural talent at the wirework and beadwork of ladie's jewelry. Thus, though the
man's father didn't approve, he married the woman. They had three children,
Leannyn being the youngest of them, and the two others, a twin brother and
sister, both followed in the example of joining their parents in jewelry work.
Lee resembled her father more than mother, for the woman looked of the peasant
breed. Stocky, but not plump, brown hair, brown eyes, tanned skin, with an ample
smile and big heart. Her father was tall, almost lanky, with the muscles and
build of an aristocrat instead of a soldier, fair skin and hair, and a kind
heart hidden behind politics (be they of the house or of the government).
Leannyn had every intention of following her parents into the family business,
and would have had she not been chosen. However, as things would have it, the
little seen Gifts that ran in her father's blood showed in her. A gifted
youngster hadn't been seen in his family in three generations, and as the girl
resembles that side of the family, is newly chosen, and obviously gifted...
though they do not approve of the marriage, they back her well. Her cousin, and
heir to her grandfather's small landholding near the Pelagirs, is currently at
Court, and has chosen to welcome her as soon as she has settled into the
Collegium.
She has now been in the Collegium two years, and after the first hit of her
Gift, covered her hands (where her Gift's reception was centered on) with gloves
at any time she didn't need them off. As she couldn't learn to shield from her
Gift, it being too wild to truly control, she began learning instead to
interpret what she saw, and decipher what she was getting the reading from. She
still doesn't have full control over her Gift.
Companion: Tyrnan, stallion
Description: He's a charming and happy horse, a sense of nobility seems to waft
about him. Strong and steady, he's very supportive and loving. Though a bit
protective of his Chosen, it is more for the hindrance of her Gift, than her
past. He's quick to tease her about things though, as an old friend might do
jokingly, but never anything that may hurt the girl.
