THE BEATLES

There's not much one really has to say about these four lovely Liverpoolers.  Anyone who has any taste adores their music and anyone who doesn't, well doesn't.  A Day in the Life, Let it Be, Yesterday, Long and Winding Road, Hey Jude, Fool on the Hill, I'm only Sleeping, Nowhere Man, Elenor Rigby, Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds, For No One, Help, You've Got to Hide Your Love Away, Here There and Everywhere, Yellow Submarine, Here comes the Sun, In My Life . . .  The list goes on and on and on and on and on.  Pages and Pages and Pages have been devoted to these guys.  Obviously I can't say all that deserves to be said in just one paragraph.  So I'll sum it up with one of my favorite Beatles Songs:

"And in the end, the love you take is equal to the love you."

THE MONKEES

Another of the greatest groups ever.  Who of my generation didn't grow up watching them on TV?  Everyone knows there theme song and Daydream Believer has been re-made so many times its sickening. I wanna be Free, Papa Gene's Blues, I'm gonna buy me a dog, We Were Meant For Each Other,  The Girl I left behind me, Last Train to Clarkesville, Stepping Stone, A Little Bit Me A Little Bit You, Shades of Gray, Pleasant Valley Sunday . . . Once again the list goes on and on.  I tape as many episodes as I can whenever Screen Gems Network plays them, but you can never get enough of these guys.

I know it means going back even another generation but I just love Ol' Blue eyes.  The face, the smile, the voice . . .   I KNOW I was born in the wrong decade.  Every time I here one of his songs I melt.
