| WAYLON & JESSI |
![]() One does not need to look too far to see, the Real Waylon Jennings; that is if: one has the senses needed to look past the promotional "glitz" and "Outlaw" tag,,,,,that Nashville and the modern Country Sound has given him. He was a man comvicted by honesty and a "love for music" that consumed his very being. It had his heart and soul; and there was no distinction between___"Music and the Man". Todays Outlaw Genre is I suppose,,credited to Waylon; but I find that somewhat of a put_down on this "Icon of Country Music" that he has become. Nothing wrong with the idea he let Nashville know; he could do without them; and make it on his own; which he did with all power and conviction. But that action and mindset seems to have earned him; the "Outlaw" status symbol. without consideration of the awesome talent he displayed. But as his song stated..."Don't ya think this Outlaw bit has gone to far"___suggests; it was not, nor ever could be....a "proper picture" of the true man___Waylon Jennings. The CMT Show...."The Outlaws--The Dirty Dozen" now gives him the #1 position of this Genre--all the while it goes into the negative aspects of his life; and of other well known musicians; and commercializes something other than what Waylon; Johnny and these others really stood for! It was NOT the "Outlaw Tag"; that made the man! It was his devotion to a sound that was unique within his very soul; that he slept, ate and lived with; ; every day of his life. Thats what made him____The Hoss---Waylon Jennings! That sound was distinctive; and announced every song that was ever played. It was the "heart of Waylon"; the man who had this special gift to touch peoples heart and lives; with true feeling, and emotion. Its even been said that The Duke's Show___made him what he came to be! Good grief it was a good show; and we loved the Waylon; even though they seldom ever had his "whole" self__on it. For many, just the sight of him playing that guitar, was all it took to get the "whoop and holler"___of "There's my man____" flowing across the land! But it did NOT make the man; it only added to what he already was! Just listening to the songs; watching his videos and seeing the man do his life long work of making music that came from within; should be enough for people to see; how and why__he cared little for the awards and acclaim that came with the music territory. He was a one_man show who had some wonderful backup, and his life and desire came to full fruition when he was on that stage. No separation---The Music__The Man. What you saw was what you got___fully displayed for all to see. Thats Real Country Musical Entertainment; cause when you left the auditorium, you knew you would never be the same again. This was__ The Man,,,,the Real Outlaw....The Music Icon AM I prejudiced; and a Waylon fanatic...your darn right I am! And proud to be! There is so few that touched my life in so many ways as he did. and he never was even aware of it. The same can be said by thousands of others who all feel the same way. The Outlaw__Genre today (as a whole) has not a clue___as to what qualifies,,,its own unique style, Wish Waylon was still here___he could set them straight for sure! Oh I know, he would shake his head, and laugh it off...and say...let 'em--- "dream their dreams"! We sure miss you "Hoss"; but we are busy keeping your memory alive. WAYLON STILL RULES~!!
