Update of our most urgent Prayer Requests: (1. May)

Dear Prayer Friends:
Greetings in then name of the risen LORD! Again we can confess HIS power is real and changes peoples lifes!
Churchplanting in Puli: The church was granted the request to become a registered company. his opened up a range of new opportunities to minister in the Puli community. In cooperation with a foundation strongly linked with the Puli Christian Hospital this Sunday the church was able to open an afternoon caring center for 70 school children after school. This kind of ministry has been very efficient after the earthquake in terms of providing real help to needy people. Already it seems the new center is far to small for the school which has more than 500 pupils in need of caring and help in their time after school. Also the center needs more teachers.
On our Easter Service we had again 7 people baptisted, three of them come from our Canaan cellgroup. The LORD has been very good and helped the church to progress so far that we don't need to worry about its future any longer. The cellgroup leader training continues, the seventh group has started under the students at the university nearby. Our evangelist was  ordained last September and the services a more appreciated than ever before. Also the young people feel well at church and eagerly participate in the worship part. Therefore we could already by the end of March officially terminate our working relationship with the church, in order to concentrate on firmly establishing the Puli Mission Prayer Group.
Sending Function Committee: Alain is about to find several willing pastors and coworkers in Puli and Taichung to support and lead the monthly mission prayer meetings. The monthly district pastors prayer meeting already agreed in taking on the spiritual caring for this group, SEND is partnering and cooperating with local leaders to shape their vision for mission. The website of the committee is growing, the first Chinese version of INTERCEDE and SEND was welcomed by the churchleaders as a helpful tool to develop a better relationship with SEND and the worldwide cross cultural mission. http://www.geocities.com/sendtaiwan_mt28/04-2001-Intercede-letter.html
Also some of SEND Taiwans 's Hakka Chinese publications on Internet can help our Hakka friends to also understand more about SEND's vision for the world. More of that as well as the latest newsletter will be launched in the coming weeks.
Short term team for Eastern Russia. There are 14 willing Chinese who right now prepare in two teams to invest their lives to save lost people among the Chinese in Eastrn Russia from April 25.- May 16. Un update and review about what happend since SEND begun with this short term missions trips check under http://www.geocities.com/hautaiwan/FERGreetings.html
In these days the second short term  from Taiwan is assiting the local church in its outreach effort to reach the Chinese foreign workers in Eastern Russia with the Good News!  three of them are from Puli, actually out of the Puli Prayer Meeting! two  more Alain could recruit from Taichung, one of it is his Chinese teacher, who also was Jonathans teacher for a while. Actually the members of this years first team all come from our former church of ministry, the Living Water Church in Taichung. Pastor Tang for whom we as a small congreagation, while he still was at the Baptist Seminary, prayed he would become the pastor of this church is considering a  missionary career with SEND International. Pastor Tang is in Russia with a short term team of SEND International of Taiwan  second time already, this time together with his wife. both seek the will of God for their future.

Teacher A Yueh und Dr. Su  (in German look http://www.geocities.com/arhautw/ExtraStory.html)
Both made a commitment for Christ. They need more prayer. Before the accident happened already they were divorced already. Only Christs love can bring their hearts togehter again. To us it seems a long road, but both don't want to give up. After months of so extentisive caring for her husband at the hospital A Yueh needs rest and recovery. What she like to sees most is to become a family in a Christian way. For her academic thinking husband to become a spiritual leader of his family is a new thing. As A Yuehs sister has seen tyhe changes in A Yuehs life since her decision for Christ she has expressed interest to pray with Rita to Christ too.
Teacher A ue is the most important teacher in the Montessori Kindergarten where Rita is helping as a volunteer in teaching Kids German (German has been declared the second most important foreign language by the government). Actually Rita helped her to accept Christ as her savior.

(Good) News about the Canaan cell group. We continue to new friends joining us in the cellgroup. Pray for Schue Mei Fang, a new teacher who has come many times already, but is often very busy. Li Zen has cancer and is undergoing chemotherapy. Although this is a very serious situation she is surprisingly in good mood. Yue Ling, a young mother was among whose who was baptized last Sunday! She too was divorced because her husbands interest differ a lot from hers. Her little daugther Tschang Yue  is one year younger than Jonathan.

We just got news that friends in our church back in Germany found a suitable home for us. Pray for the remaining time in Taiwan, as Alain wants to work as far as he can on his thesis about the Hakka on Taiwan before returning to Europe in July. The first chapter is done. A few major items are clearer than they were by the time Alain started to write on his thesisabouyt the Hakka again and just turned in a part of it for approval to Germany before writing down the rest.

Last Sunday the teaching room for the children Sunday school was looked. Bad news! all the nice pictures for the Sunday school was in it! Well, it was so good  Jonathan had his Chinese phonetic Bible in his pocket in order to help out the teacher to visualize his teaching! Again it proofed to be a good habit to always have a bible at hand, even if it isn't always so much for the own personal enrichment!

May God bless all of you ,
Alain und Familie
