Johnny "Booger" Young
Knott County
Johnny Booger was a "healer" if you will. Alot of people that were sick or had sick children would go to him to be cured. There was a young boy's parents that took him to see Johnny, he had a severe earache, Johnny took him in his hands and simply blew in his ear, the boy stopped crying and the earache was gone. Johnny Booger also could do other things, He could point at a gate and it would open and/or close at his will. He was going by someones house one day, there were some chickens or turkeys in the yard, Johnny told him that all those animals would die. The man laughed at him and told him they would be fine. The next morning, they were all dead, not killed or poisioned, they just died during the night. It was said that when Johnny Booger died that his house lit up like a christmas tree inside and out, horrible sounds could be heard. The cemetery where he is burried is a local party ground, local teens go there and break in the church house and smoke pot and drink. Alot of those teens have been there only one time too. They said that flames shot up from Johnny's grave, and said they had really bad things happen to them since they were there. More than one person has said that, more than one has seen it. He is burried on Youngs Fork in Knott county on Lotts Creek.
At the gravesite of Johnny "Booger" Young there is a church that still remains. There was a huge rock surrounded by the theory of the tree that is half-alive and half-dead. The rock has dead and living grass all around it. We have yet to see any unusual siting on the graveyard itself, but the church is another story. We have heard strange noises, saw shadows move across the walls, and footsteps. There was a theory about fire shooting up from his grave if one parties, but my team and I have yet to prove this theory because that is very disrespectful to the dead.
