| James Watson immigrated to the Colony of Maryland in the year 1673 from Angus, County, Dundee, Scotland. He came with his wife, Elizabeth Gott, and their son William b. 1652 in Dundee. Their transportation was arranged by Richard Gowland, presumably under the headright system. James was born 1624 in Dundee and died April 11, 1704 in Prince Georges County, Md. Elizabeth was born 1635 in Dundee and died April 24, 1708 in Prince Georges County, Md. James and Elizabeth had two sons. 1. William was born November 24, 1652 in Angus County, Dundee, Scotland and died 1726 Prince Georges County, Md. William married Isobel Milne January 18, 1699 in Dundee, Scotland. She was born June 30, 1649 in Dundee, Scotland. 2. James Watson b. 1754 in Scotland and died 1720 in Pa. No other info on James 1754. William Watson and Isobel Milne had five children. 1. *James Watson b. July 12, 1677, Kent, Maryland , d. Md. 2. Agnis Watson, b. 1670 in Dundee, Scotland. 3. Willliam Watson b. 1672, Dundee, Scotland. d. 1743, Md. he married Catherine Ramsey. 4. Christian Watson b. 1674, Md. 5. Margerate Watson b. 1681 *James Watson , born July 12, 1677 in Kent, Maryland , he died in Md. He married Ann Perry. She was born 1684 in Md. and died 1726 in Md. James and Ann had 7 children. 1.*John Elijah Watson b. July 07, 1718 in Va. he died August 17, 1791 at Ridge Springs, Edgefield County, S.C. 2. Isaac Watson 3. William Watson b. 1705 Prince Georges County, Md. d. August 1775 in Johnston County, N.C. 4. Sarah Watson b. 1710 5. Thomas Watson b. 1710 6. Elizabeth Watson *John Elijah married Ann Blair Murphy in 1740 in Va. She was born June 27, 1722 in Isle of Wight, Va. and died March 05, 1795 in Ridge Spgs., Edgefield County, S.C. John Elijah Watson's Will recorded in Probate Judge's Office at Edgefield, S.C. in Book A, Page 29 and was made the 4th of April , 1788.
