General Doom dove back into battle, as did Sentinel and Aegis along with the Barbarians. It was understandable how the Barbarians got their name. They were vicious in combat swinging their giant swords in vein. ‘We wait here until Ksid and the others come.’ Enigma said, watching on. ‘Good.’ Arem replied. ‘Let’s waste as much time as possible until we have to get involved.’ They ducked down low upon the hill out of sight. Only a few monsters now and then were able to stumble across them, but Enigma struck them down with his sword. Ice looked on in horror as a few limbs rolled past her face. ‘What is it with that sword?’ ‘I don’t know.’ Enigma said, running another through. ‘It’s sort of like my old dagger. It’s amazing because it just cuts through stone as easily as it could cut threw water. Must be the material.’ The group retreated further and further back as the battle spilled out of the valley. They were quickly running out of places to hide, and in some cases were right in the middle of the savage warfare. Guardian returned unaccompanied. ‘Their on their way. Lord Ksid’s furious with what happened and is trying to round up as many men as possible. ‘Did you see Seth’s army on your way?’ Iikin asked. He shook his head. ‘You may want to go over to Neekkent and see him. Their our closest form of back up.’ ‘I will.’ ‘Also, get Seth to bring Edud’s men along. He’s got a full force that haven’t been in battle recently.’ Eventually, very few people fought near the Cathedral grounds. The brawling left behind a desolate sight, with disfigured bodies of all walks of life. The wind howled in the quietness, as the large mass of black cloud swirled faster and faster, whilst the bloody shouts of man and their drudgery rose somewhere off in the distance. Everything was still. Nothing living remained active, as their memories continued to battle on in rage. ‘This is sick.’ Ice covered her mouth. They’d returned to the original site, scrounging around for survivors whilst the rest of the pack fought on into the night elsewhere. Enigma dug his sword into a cadaver. ‘What carnage.’ They found no survivors in this area. ‘What do you expect?’ Power said. ‘It’s a war. They’re out here trying to kill each other.’ Absolutely nauseated, the group moved off up another hill that looked outwards towards the west. There were still a lot of people and beasts alive. Fire’s burnt outrageously around them. But this didn’t phase any of the fighters. ‘Hey. What’s that over there?’ Terrol was squinting towards the western horizon. General Doom then flew down in front of them from the sky. ‘Is this the back up?’ ‘Some of it.’ Enigma replied. ‘Most of those soldiers have never seen a Gargoyle before, and probably won’t be able to tell the difference between your men and the other beasts.’ ‘I’ll get the gargoyles to fight from the sky then.’ He lifted his head and howled several commands in a foreign tongue. In unison, their allies lifted into the air. A dull grey gargoyle then joined his leading officer. ‘General, Sir.’ He nodded. ‘There is something mysterious going on.’ ‘What is it.’ ‘Well, with the arrivals of the reinforcements, more beasts have appeared. I saw them with my own eyes. They appeared in a flash of light, and now they out number us three to one.’ ‘How about with the enforcement’s?’ ‘That takes it down to two to one.’ the reporter said. ‘Thank you lieutenant.’ He nodded. ‘Bring the kings of the new army to me.’ Then the lieutenant flew away. ‘That’s no good.’ Power complained. ‘We haven’t got a hope in hell of winning this war if that keeps on happening.’ General Doom murmured. ‘There has to be a logical explanation for this.’ Enigma’s words were partly reassuring, but he couldn’t come up with the proof to back them up. ‘We’ll just have to wait for Ksid to get here. Just tell your men to hang in there.’ And then an irate Iren and Repins joined them. They were transported by the legs, screaming in absolute horror. As they landed, they ducked behind Enigma and his group for protection. ‘Your Majesties.’ Enigma explained. ‘They’re our allies.’ They peeped from behind their cover. ‘This is General Doom.’ ‘G - General Doom.’ they frightened kings stuttered. ‘The name’s purely for intimidation.’ the general laughed. ‘And it’s working.’ Carefully, they slowly came over to greet the beast. The Gargoyle leader was enjoying the power over these well respect master’s. ‘Our men will be in the air.’ His voice was louder, and stern. ‘Tell your men to attack only those on the ground. They are your enemies.’ ‘But what if some of the men on the ground are your men, and they’re just hurt.’ Iren’s voice was slowly shrinking away. ‘No soldier of mine rests on the job unless he’s been killed. They are all warriors, and they’ll fight to the death.’ He then turned to Enigma, and with a wink and a grin, he shot off back into battle. ‘It’s nice of you to come along.’ Enigma said appreciative. Neither of them answered. They simply stared into nothingness with shock. ‘Your Majesties?’ ‘Yes Enigma?’ Repins awoke from his dream. ‘I said it’s nice of you to come along.’ ‘It is?’ He laughed wryly, then returned to his dazed state. After a few hours, the red leader of the Gargoyles returned. ‘I see the help has arrived.’ ‘They have.’ Iikin said. ‘But it doesn’t make any difference when monsters keep on appearing.’ Guardian tensed up. ‘That’s not all we have to worry about. The Revolution still have another force that are getting ready to cross the Neekkentian Gap. Also, the illusionary cult fleet are still moving along.’ He then turned his attention to something in the distance. ‘Don’t even say it.’ Ksid said as he jogged up the hill towards the rest of the group. His face was bitter. ‘The others are on their way.’ Acknowledging Guardian, he looked out over the many scuffles. ‘I see that you were able to figure out my riddle.’ ‘And it took eternity to do it.’ he laughed. ‘So what’d you do to your little battle in the Borderline Desert?’ Power had a smile on his face. ‘Don’t laugh.’ Ksid ordered him. ‘It wasn’t all my idea.’ ‘What were the kings reaction when you told them what was happening.’ Ice couldn’t help but smile as well. ‘They didn’t react at all. They just explained to their men what was happening, and it’s urgency. I left a few platoons behind to monitor the illusionary fleet. It probably turns out that there are a some real ships in there some where, ready to start looting in the south whilst we are distracted here in the north.’ ‘There’s supposed to be some more legions to come across the Neekkentian gap.’ Enigma said. ‘Where about’s in Neekkent.’ ‘From the place called Bosloi.’ Guardian answered. Enigma felt suddenly uneasy. ‘I want to go and have a look at this fleet myself.’ ‘Enigma?’ ‘I’ll be back soon Ksid.’ With Guardian’s help, Enigma was taken across the sea to the east coast of Bosloi, Neekkent. Cult Mountain could easily be seen from their altitude in the far south west. As they hovered, they looked down upon what looked to be thousands and thousands of men, hustling around, getting things ready. There were several large ships hidden behind clump’s of trees and shrubbery. Still concentrating on what he saw, his eyes turned yellow. As this did so, everything he thought he saw, vanished. ‘What do you see Enigma?’ Guardian asked. ‘Take a look for yourself.’ Enigma cast the same spell on the beast. He almost let go with what he saw. ‘There’s no one there.’ ‘Exactly.’ Enigma agreed. ‘They wouldn’t put that thing there without a sole reason. Guardian, take me along the Korutianian Sea. I have a feeling that’s where we’ll find what we’re looking for.’ He used a different spell this time, magnifying his sight, and differing it a little so that anything with stealth, he would see. ‘There.’ He pointed to something sneaking up the northern coast of Sable. ‘What is it?’ ‘Ships. Thousands of them.’ Seeing enough, he changed coarse. Ksid and the group still stood upon the same hill when they got back. The battle field was dotted with white robes, as Ksid’s men had joined the fight. They fought using what they knew best - magic. A web of chaos was spun, as they eliminated the opposition in droves. As beasts appeared out of no where, the followers were able to match it, creating helpers of their own. It wasn’t quiet an even field yet, but they were getting close to it. ‘Trouble.’ Enigma announced once he was back on his feet. ‘Very big trouble.’ ‘More?’ Ksid couldn’t believe it. ‘We should have kept the men where they were. The enemies we thought were on the Boslian border actually aren’t there. It’s another illusion. What their really doing is sneaking up the northern border of Sable. I don’t know where they’re going, but nevertheless, they’ve deceived us again. They’re using stealth to evade us.’ The ancient man’s face began to infuriate. ‘How many are there?’ ‘I can tell you that there are thousands of ships.’ Ksid dropped to his haunches in thought. ‘You have no idea where they could be going?’ ‘None.’ ‘You sure?’ ‘If I knew, I would have told you already. He continued to think. ‘Okay. If there are thousands of ships, then there are bound to be even more people involved. In a few day’s, I’ll take half of my men from here to help out where ever they land. They’re no threat whilst they’re out at sea. Guardian, can we get more of your help, plus a couple of others?’ ‘Of coarse.’ He replied. ‘Get some of your men to go warn our Neekkentian allies. Tell Seth to take his men south into the Korutianian Sea, and get Edud to come up north here to help out. Also, alert Evol of what’s happening.’ ‘Evol is busy, Lord Ksid.’ the gargoyle explained. ‘The last time I saw him, they were battling some ships that were headed out west. They appeared to be cult boats.’ ‘Well at least we foiled one plan.’ Ksid replied without much enthusiasm. ‘Ksid.’ Iikin interrupted. ‘Since the Platinium isn’t far ahead, wouldn’t it make sense that the Revolution could be heading for the Platinium rings? They’ve got the stone, so they could either be going to use it, or they could even just be going there to hold us back in case we some how manage to get the thing back.’ He thought about it. ‘I think your right. Guardian, would you be able to take Enigma to the king’s that are making their way here?’ Guardian nodded. ‘Enigma, tell them to take three quarters of their crew to Sable, and to let the other quarter go on ahead.’ Enigma nodded. ‘I’ll still hold my men here for a while. When they land, come back and tell me.’ ‘What about the rest of us?’ Arem protest. ‘The rest of us are going to stay here. I’ll take you all there once I get word that they’ve disembarked.’ ‘We’ll be back soon, Lord Ksid.’ Guardian promised, taking Enigma back into the sky. A half hour latter, Enigma was flown on board the mother vessel, where all the kings resided. ‘King Yalerkûm.’ he called, once on deck. Yalerkûm came out from below. ‘Enigma, how did you get here.’ Not bothering to explain, he got right down to the point. ‘Take three quarters of this fleet and head for Sable.’ ‘But why boy?’ ‘Your being invaded!’
