Background - I got my tickets a few days in advance along with Hazin' Jane's CD. I got there 30 min. before the gates opened,This time was lined up to be better then the last year, because I was going for both days.  This year had more security and was 18 +.

The first day was hot on and off. when I first got there, I spent some time scoping out the area. After some time, the music started. Ill Begotten three-o was the first band. they were not my type of music. Another dew-drop hippy band that are so much of a staple at Pondstock. The First band of any interest of the week end was Ross Mofia, who played before Redneck Aliens, dispite the line up. They are a new hard rock band, so I will forgive them for not having a vary tight sound. I had hoped more from the way their roadie discribed them. Never trust a roadie. Next was RedNeck Aliens. probable the oldest hard rock band on the sceen. They Got a pit going so i give then credit. Their vocals and guitar could have been better. Their Tool cover was a bit, well, redneck. the pit did not last long do to the new improved asshole security. The Machine, a Pink Floyd tribute band, were the star atraction of Pondstock. I passed out durring there said, so i did not hear them.  later my friend John told me that they were not that good, and I take his word on it. I was asleep for most of Jim as well. the other times I saw they they sucked anyway. "Are you drinking with me Jesus" will never be a good song, end of story. After conferming that the "Late Night Rave" was a joke, I went to sleep once and for all. The next day was long and hot. Wide Awake and wag were hippy bands. I hate hippy music. face it man, the dead suck.
I was from and center for John Doe And The Toe Tags. They were A hybrid modern/classic rock cover band with a demos worth of originals. They were a good band, most notable for the lead singers proformance. For the most part there music was not much to wow about.Tthe next band I can remember was Perfect Salesmen. A Punk Band that made a name for them self landing a spot on a show at Warp tour. They utterly failed to impress me.  After Perferct Salesmen was Derelict Brew. They had a Sonic youth type sound. Mostly like a throw back to the early 90's alternative seen, but they had no real edge. Almost no one came out to them, and to ad insult to injury, at  the tail end of there set, almost everyone came up to the stage... The other stage to the bands left, waiting for Hazin Jane. The fans were out in full force for local favs Hazin' Jane. They played their standerd set spiced up with britney Spears mocking antics. People came out of the wood work for their set and looking around, I, at points wondered, "Were the fuck did those people come from?" Basicly, Hazin Jane is the new fad of the townies in plattsburgh and they suck more and more each time they play it seems. After that I went around the camp ground, scored some weed and got stoned . I have little memory of the bands leadign up to Sutter Kain, other then the fact that they sucked. After dark, I remember talkign to a camra guy about music and his $3,000 digital camra. A impressive piece of equipment. There was a RV that had paint all over it (See Picture)
Walking up to the stage high, The red lite stage was hypmatizing. After about 10 or 15 minutes, Sutter Kain came on. There set was easily the heaviest of the weekend, They did covers of Tool, Pantera, Metallica, Disturbed, Godsmack, and some other shit I can't remember and also did atleast 5 original songs. the Guitarist was awsome and had a Mesa Boogie half stack. The singer had alot of stage presance. He wore nothign but a amarican flag and underwear, all of witch he took off at the end of the show. so that makes 3 artist I have seen do that at a concert. They were hands down the best cover band I have seen in upstate New York. Although I well have to wait to see them again, because like I said, I was high, and music is always better when you are high. After that, the nigh twas more or less over.  Good Times Man, Good Times.
