NIN is a one man band (a.k.a Trent Reznor). NIN is one of the most popular rock acts of the 90's. NIN's mix of techno and rock has put him on the map. NIN's first album, PRITTY HATE MACHINE was released on TVT records in 1989. At first not much attention was given to the album and sales were low. That is till NIN's second single head like a hole (down in it was the first) started to get air play. Another single called Sin followed that. The song Head like a hole was a big hit. NIN almost ended after that because of a battle with his lable. However NIN was eventualy picked up by Interscope records.
NIN's Second album, Broken took NIN to a new level. It had a harder Rock sound. This upset some fans of NIN because the album was drasticly diffrent from Pretty hate machine. Broken had only 8 songs on it. The singles on the album were Wish, Happiness in slavery (Band From MTV), and Give up (Unreleased). NIN's Third album was released in 1994 called The Downward Spiral. It is NIN's most well known album. NIN's also played at woodstock in 1994, and set out on the SELF DISTRUCT tour. this was a big tour for the band and it would be one of their last tours for almost 5 years. This tour was mainly where the NIN home video was taken from. The other bands and acts on the site were Jim Rose's Circus side show, MARILYN MANSON (that bands first major tour) and for one leg of the tour the band HOLE. The Videos from the album were- March of the pigs, Hurt, and Closer. NIN did not put out another album after the downward spiral for almost five years. Trent Reznor was busy with other things such as work on Marilyn Manson's album Antichrist Superstar. NIN's next album took nearly two years to make. On 9-9-99, NIN played at the MTV music awards. 6 Days later NIN's next video We'er in this together was premired on MTV's TLR. Another six days later on 9-21-99, NIN's newest album The fragile was released on NOTHING/INTERSCOPE. It was a long album with 2 discs and 23 songs. The videos from the album were We'er in this together, Into the void, and Starfuckers, INC. Soon, NIN will Release "And All That Could Have Been" a live dvd/cd of the Fragility Tour. |
