| july 16 2002 | I put water and the purifier in the tank. It's bubbling! |
| july 18 2002 | 7PM: I put the eggs in the water 22.30PM: They're swimming. Really tiny, but I can see them swim. I've seen at least 8 seamonkeys. |
| july 20 2002 | The number of SM has increased. They have grown a little.I gave them oxygen for the first time(that's really weird though). Some new eggs have hatched. |
| july 23 2002 | I gave them oxygen again. Some seamonkeys have died. |
| july 24 2002 | First time feeding. They are very active today. Some are moving to the surface to eat. |
| july 25 2002 | They've grown a little. I think there are about 25 SM now. Something like that. I gave them oxygen again. Afraid I blow them all to pieces, but they said it was good for them. Well, I hope so. |
| july 26 2002 | They still grow everyday. Other than that, not much change. |
| july 28 2002 | Gave them ox. again. Wow! They've grown a lot! |
| july 31 2002 | I can see their eyes now, and their spine, and now I can really see them swim, instead of tiny dots that are moving. Tha largest one is about 1 centimeter long(tail included). I fed them again, they like that. And now they all swim upside down! |
| August 1 2002 | Added some water, I hope the right kind. The water damps quickly. |
| August 2 2002 | Gave them some oxygen |
| August 6 2002 | Gave the SM oxygen again. How often are you supposed to do this? |
| August 7 2002 | The seamonkeys seem slow today. A number have died. One of them has turned black, and is lying on the bottom of the tank. The living ones have grown a little. They are swimming around in all different sizes. But mainly they swim close to the bottom, I wonder why that is. They may be hungry, but i fed them immediately. A week has passed since the last time I fed them. |
| August 8 2002 | A new egg has hatched. A mini-monkey is dwelling around on the bottom! There's quite a difference in size between the new one and the rest. You can clearly see how much they have grown. |
| August 9 2002 | It's fun to see them so active today, so busy swimming around... |
| August 13 2002 | Now they're moving slowly, very quiet. I wonder if the Seamonkeys have a certain time at which they are awake, or sleeping. They probably do. It's late at night now, no daylight anymore. Maybe that has something to do with it. I gave them dinner. Apparently they were hungry. |
| August 14 2002 | The SM are hanging around on the bottom of the tank. Hard to say how many there are. |
| August 15 2002 | They keep on swimming upside down... Why do they do that?! They are very active now, it was a warm day today, they seem to like that. The number of Seamnkeys appears to be constant. There are about 20 monkeys now, although it's hard to tell the exact number. |
| August 16 2002 | They are still very active today, swimming around happily. All about 1 centimeter tall, tail included. |
| August 20 2002 | Now they are quiet. I can only see one swimming around, the rest is probably somewhere on the bottom. I gave them oxygen and food. The food brings them back to life a little. |
| August 23 2002 | The monkeys are still very quiet. Some have died this week, maybe because of the hot weather. There are at least 3 dead bodies on the bottom. I count 13 SM now. But there is another mini-monkey, so a new egg has hatched. |
| August 27 2002 | Fed them and gave them oxygen. They were very slow, but because of the food they are more active again. I can see 8 monkeys swimming around. I hope the rest is on the bottom ? |
| August 28 2002 | I'm glad they are activea again. Fortunately all 13 are swimming around now. Since last week luckily no more monkeys have died. |
| August 29 2002 | All day happily swimming around. Gave some ox. |
| September 3 2002 | They have grown a lot.About an inch now. The number of SM stays the same. |
| September 4 2002 | They are happy today. Some water damped, so I added "demineralised"water. |
| September 5 2002 | 2 monkeys are clutched to eachother. They are mating for the first time! The female is a little red-brownish and the male is lightgreen. |
| September 6 2002 | A new egg has hatched. But other than that the number remains constant. Another couple is mating. |
| September 10 2002 | 2 couples are mating. 2 females have egg-sacks. Gave them oxygen again. |
| September 11 2002 | Another couple mating. More sm have eggsacks. They are all active today. I fed them again. |
| September 18 2002 | The number of monkeys remains the same. |
| September 25 2002 | Only one has an eggsack now. They are quiet now. I count 12. |
| September 26 2002 | There are still 13 monkeys, I'm glad. So none of them have died in the last couple of weeks. I see another tiny one,. |
| October 10 2002 | I can see 10 adult seamonkeys. I don't see any little ones at all. There are many algae and animal remains on the bottom... |
| November 11 2002 | Now I count 11 monkeys. A female is swimming on the bottom on the tank, snooping around between the algae, the others are at the surface. The total amount of monkeys stays quite constant. I'm curious how it goes when the winter comes. |
| January 16 2003 | 3 couples are mating. All females have their eggsacks filled. Now there are 3 males and 4 females left. 1 couple is very active on the bottom. Usually they're kinda quiet, but it's going heavy now :). The others are quiet though. Gave'em food again. I do that every week. |
| February 19 2003 | Another egg has hatched! Now there are only 4 adults left. I don't give'em food this week, they all have a dark stripe on their back, so apparently they had enough to eat. There's probably enough food for many more adults. I hope the temperature will rise soon, that no more monkeys die :( Still many algae. I can't tell whether that is good or not. |
| March 11 2003 | All my seamonkeys are dead!!!! :( Just like that |
| March 18 2003 | Some eggs are starting to hatch. I see 5 little ones now. phieuw... |
| April 15 2003 | The water becomes clearer slowly. I don't give em food to be sure. It's squirming with mini-monkeys. No large ones yet. The temperature has risen a bit, I hope they can grow up peacefully. The number of algae is decreasing. Although there are oxygen bubbles on the surface because of the algae. |
| April 27 2003 | The monkeys have moved! Because of a renovation I can't leave them in my appartment, so they stay over at my friend's place. I cleaned the tank, but it still looks swampy because of the many algae. The water seems healthy though, it doesn't smell, and there are many little ones, so I can't clean the bottom. There are about 15 little monkeys, maybe more. I'm going to give them a lot of oxygen, and a lot of light. Maybe the algae disappear through the change of environment. |
| April 28 2003 | There are at least 30 new ones! :) |
| May 31 2003 | I fed them. The warm weather seems to be doing a lot of good, they are swimming around happily. They all go to the surface to eat. |
| June 7 2003 | They are still small, about o.5 cm, but they start to get a real seamonkey shape. You can see a spine now |
| July 22 2003 | There are 7 adults now, and some small ones. It's going well lately. They are mating a lot and the number remains constant. |
| August 7 2003 | The number of new monkeys is increasing. The warm weather(above 30 degrees celsius) seems to do them well. 1 little one has been transferred to the neighbour tank, to help the population over there. |
