| This was a great weekend trip with the Triangle Sailing Association. There were about six boats ranging from my Precision 18 and a Compac Suncat to a 65 foot double masted. I launched at Calico Jacks on Harkers Island. From there it is a short 5 miles to Cape Lookout. The rest of the boats went out Beaufort Inlet. I did not want to try that since this was my first sail in something other that a lake. I learned three things on this trip. 1) Always put up you mosquito netting no matter how much the wind is blowing and keeping the mosquitos away. 2) Always put up the tarp over the hatch no matter what the chance of rain is. 3) Sea weed will clog the water intake of the outboard. There are at least 245 pictures at the TSA web site. See links on home page. |
