Road
Swinging on boot legged star time stolen
Looking at every situation in particular with
precision
This rumble of old trains many days later
Rumbles up side down the blush cheek memory
Dry dirty fingers wiped sadness sunsets away
It crept up on me, this rambunctious boy
School day kisses little notes
Of blue, your silver neck laces
Boots and fire under sunshine seas
Wings grow wide and slip beside
Sugar cane rain and salt
A whisper in your ear
Taking sweet bridges, dogs and booze,
Passing brown eyed kids who’s
Laughing bare toes warm the muddy back fields.
Dusty window panes watch sweating unbuttoned men
With a kerchief head, her leaning, upon his
comfortable shoulder
Mountains valleys twist one another
Drive on passed boulders embraced
Set off by clouds’ warm breezes and green stalks
Legs around legs, and wheels
Moving out to sea with a slow breathed conversation
Heart wrapped words about clay molded days
Like horses gallop and hoof beat power
Worn down grass, moon lit and warm hill kisses.
