John Thomas Whetten and Ludie Ellis Hassell Whetten...

My Connection to the Whettens is as follows:
Ludie (my grandmother), had two kids from her marriage to Uriah E. Hassell.
They were:
Wilford Clair Hassell and Lyman Snow "Jack" Hassell.
(There is a nice family pic of Uriah, Ludie and kids on my Hassell page...)
When Uriah Hassell (my grandfather), was killed,
(go to the Hassell Page to learn about Uriah),
Ludie married Bishop John Thomas Whetten.
John T. and Ludie had five kids together...
They were:
Manita, Zorina, Lufton Cray "Tucker", Anthony Valentine "Tone",
and Ellis.
Ellis was born in a lumber shed during the Mexican Revolution in
1912. They had been living in the Colonies in Old Mexico. But had to go to
the USA because the Revolution made it unsafe in the Colonies.

I was lucky enough to find a book compiled and edited by some
of my Whetten Cousins. Rea Brown Schmidt and Carl & Viva Whetten in
1996. It has tons of pictures and wonderful history and stories of
the many decendents of John Thomas Whetten. I Have gotten
permission from Carl Whetten to put some of the stuff on here... so
as time permits you can come here to check it out!!

Below are Links to take you to little mini pages for nice
pics and little stories of several of the Whettens.
