| Okay, a little background here For the past 2 years or so, Ive been working on writing my first novel. Its called Beyond Reason and its about a young actor named Josh McCain. He was about to hit the big time when he is framed for murder by a tabloid magazine. Josh is arrested, tried & convicted for a couple of murders he didnt commit essentially his life is completely torn apart. His views of the world become jaded and bitter. He desperately needs his friends and family to help him pull his life back together. . Now for those of you who arent writers, when you spend that much time working on a story such as that, you become pretty attached to your main character. So when I heard Bent for the first time, I thought, Damn! This song reminds me of Josh! And heres why I believe that Josh represents human nature when a traumatic experience happens in our life. We become bent and, like Josh, search for someone to give us strength when we get too tired to make it through the hard times. The basic and instinctive need for someone to help us pick up and put the pieces of our shattered lives back together. Essentially I interpret this song as a cry for help. |
