Episode 7:  Break For 20
In this episode of As The Match Burns...

The boys of Matchbox Twenty do an interview with VH1.

The restyou simply dont want to know.

But we know you'll read on anyway!

As always, every episode is written out of fun.  If you're taking this seriously, you probably didn't understand "Mad Season," either, and therefore really shouldn't read this anyway.
2001 by Rebecca J. Burke & Hashbrown Casserole for the Matchbox Twenty Soul, Inc.
She settled into her chair as filming began, quickly glanced at her notecards, and then to Camera One.  "Hi, this is Rebecca Rankin here with Matchbox Twenty for VH1's 'Rock Across America.'  We're only minutes away from the start of their show here in Chicago, and we've been lucky to score a word with the guys."  She then turned to Rob and Paul, who sat in large plush chairs on the intimate set, with Kyle, Adam, and Brian behind them on stools.  "So, are you all psyched to be winding up your Mad Season tour and heading back into the studio?"

Rob turned on his megawatt smile for Rebecca.  "Yeah!  Though it seems like it's gone by so quickly!"

"It'sit's bittersweet, really.  We spent so much time on the road with the first album, and it seems like such a short time with Mad Season.  So while we miss all the time with the fans, we are really excited to be starting in on Album Number 3 so soon," Paul replied, shifting in his seat and pushing his glasses back up on his nose.

"So what's new on this leg of the tour?" Rebecca asked.

Kyle piped up.  "We've added two covers.  A Black Crowes and a Lennon one."

"And I can see everything from my little 'perch!'" Paul exclaimed.  "Last time, no one could see me, and I couldn't see jack!"

Rob laughed.  "Also, we've added a song or two that we didn't play last time.  Sort of a nice change of pace."

Switching to the next card, Rebecca asked, "What's it like being with Train?"

"It's great!" Rob exclaimed, beaming wildly.

"Pat's such a ham!" Adam laughed, and Brian nodded in agreement.

"We love going out and watching them before we have to get ready," Paul added.

Rebecca smiled, and glanced at her card again.  "What would you all say is the favorite song of the crowds this time?"

"CUT!" the director yelled, and listened intently to something someone was telling him in his headset.

"What?  What now?" Rebecca bitched, standing up and putting her hands on her hips, tossing her cards everywhere.  "Well?"

The director yanked off his headphones and threw them on the floor.  "They're saying that we're not getting through, something's fucked up with the tape.  Though feedback shows it as okay, so were not sure.  We're going to have to take it to the other room to see if it's okay to use."  He then walked into the adjoining room.

"GOD!  Can't something go right around here?" she yelled at no one in particular and grabbed a bottle of water sitting nearby to take a swig.

The boys of the band just sat there, not sure what to say, or do, giving each other nervous glances.

Walking back onto the set, the director said, "Alright, let's break for 20."  He then looked at the band and laughed.  "Wellyou all know what I mean.  We'll get this fixed."

The crew quickly dispersed, and Rebecca stormed off, leaving the boys completely alone.  "Uhhhwhat do we do now?" Kyle asked.

"Wait here?" Brian responded, not sure at all.

"I dunno, guys," Rob said, looking around at all the camera equipment and at the set, trying to resist the urge to pick his nose.
