General. The Eucharist unites Christians together in faith. When we were first taken to the Church for baptism, our parents asked that we might be given faith and they wanted this for us that we might achieve life everlasting. All we do during the Eucharist and in our everyday lifetime is in evidence of this faith we have received, like the white dress we wore on our First Holy Communion day, which ought to grow with us as time passes by.

Habbacuc. The just man is prone to think that while evil progresses, God is looking on inactive. Little does he take it that this is a test for himself about his patience and trust in God. In brief it is a matter of faith in God’s work with humanity, in letting good and evil grow together only to separate the wheat from the surrounding weeds when the right time, which onlyHHH He knows about, comes.

Second Epistle to Timothy. St Paul is aware that fear does not come from God but from evil. What God gives to whoever has faith is a Spirit of fortitude, love and patience. These virtues really mean faith in a protective Father Who holds our hands through the whims of life and abides within us throughout all our lives by the grace given us in Baptism.

St Luke. If only we had a kernel of faith as much as a mustard grain, we would be able to work wonders. Then God would expect us to work in His vineyard and to serve in His name without expecting any return, financial or by way of praise or honour, knowing that our dues will be given us in enjoying life everlasting, for having done that which as men and women of faith we were bound to do. And this is exactly where people like Mother Teresa finds their niche in God’s kingdom.
