Homily Points
27th Sunday B
General.
In our Sunday meeting to give praise to God, we praise Him for His almigtiness and for having bestowed upon us the grace of faith, that we become Christians. Let us pray Him to replenish us with His goodness so that we might exit this gathering and speak out about the great doings which the Lord has accomplished with us.Genesis.
When man and wife are joined in marriage in Christ they form one single body, a gift unto each other, a new creature, so much that there does not exist any longer male or female, but a new person, the complete form of the human being. Their progeny is a blessing from God, Who multiplies human beings on the face of the earth and makes them all beings in His image.Hebrews.
The reading from this unknown Jewish author recognizes that God has made Jesus perfect through the suffering he has undergone. This is an apparent contradiction, which is difficult to understand, yet as Christians we know that we are purified by means of the suffering and the Cross which God endows and glorifies us with, the same way as gold is purified by fire.St Mark.
Marriage and the consequent relationships of union or division which it brings along with it, have been problem topics eversince the beginning of mankind. The reply Jesus gives is that man need not complicate anything which God made and that man should act in simple manner both in his feelings and in his doings. Jesus shows this himself in his relations with those children whom he embraced with paternal love and said that whosoever is like them inherits the Kingdom of Heaven.
