Assalamo Alaikum!
A person has some silver and some gold, but the quantity of each of them is less than its threshold. Is he supposed to pay zakat? If, yes, then how?

Dear
May Allah accept your zakat, Amen!
There is a difference of opinion, among the four schools of thought, on this issue.
Shafa’ee and Hanbali schools say that there is no zakat on them, as each of them belongs to a different kind. However, Hanafi and Maliki schools assert that both the metals are of same kind of wealth; hence, if the combined value of the two fulfills the threshold of any one of them, then zakat will be paid on the combined value, according to the fulfilled threshold.
Allah knows best.
