However, whatever the commentators have written is given as under:

First let us see the verse. Allah says:

مَاقَدَرُوااللهَ حَقَّ قَدرِهِ إِنَّ اللهَ لَقَوىٌِّ عَزِيزٌ

No just estimate have they made of Allah: for Allah is he who is strong and able to carry out his will.

The people in their sheer ignorance worship idols or other helpless and perishable souls or entities. They ask such entities to give them power, wealth, health, and children, etc. Such entities have no power or authority as such in them. Allah has all such power and authority. He is fully able to carry out his will and plan. People do not realize that they should worship Him and Him alone. When they worship others, they in fact do not worship and pay their respect to Allah the way He should be respected. They are joining others to His authority and status.
