Dear sister Shaheen Assalamo Alaikum

Eid Mubarak.

It is good to know that you have realized the importance of Salat. May Allah

help you in living as a good practicing Muslim, Amen!

Now here is your question:

My first question is-I was not very regular in my farz prayers, though since

last few year I realized  and am Alhamdolillah trying to say all farz prayers

regularly, but now I want to make for those missed "namaz". Is there any way to

recover for thouse missed Sallah. Some one told me about Namaz -e Quaza -e

umri. What it is, and how it is? Can you please guide me in this regard. Thanks.

Answer:

I guess you have missed more than six times of salat in your life.

In that case, I suggest that at time of every farz salat, in stead of nafil or

sunnah, you should offer missed farz salat of that time, and continue doing that

till you have completed all missed ones.

To estimate missed salats, you have to estimate how many years you had not

offered farz salats since you became ten years old.

Suppose you had not offered salat for five years. In five years there are 1825

days. Thus you need to offer 1825 of each five times salat. You need not wait

for 1825 days to complete it. You can offer these salats, irrespective of the

times of farz salat, whenever you have time to do that. Regarding niyyah, you

should have niyyah of Fajr or Dhuhr or Asr, and so on according to what you are

offering. Also you should offer as many rakat as are required of that time of

salat i.e. 3 for Maghreb, and two for Fajr, etc.

It is also recommended to offer qaza of witr as well as Fajr sunnah.

May Allah accept your salat and reward you for that.Amen!

Wassalam
