Salam Alaikum,
One of my friends is a
Christian. Christian in a sense that he says Jesus Christ is the only god.
Otherwise his name, his family and all other things are like Muslims. Even he
eats foods which are permissible in Islam. But there are only two things that
he believes in: 1, Jesus Christ is the only god and; 2,
we are non-Muslims in his eyes. My question is, “Are we allowed to share our
plate with while taking meals? Are we allowed to use the same glass for
drinking water? Are we allowed to say him salaam as we do with Muslims?” Please
help me understand Islam.

Answer:
If
the food is halal, and the drink is halal, then there is no harm in sharing
those with non-Muslims, provided the plates and glasses have been cleaned and
washed before using them.
Similarly,
there is no harm in greeting salam to those
non-Muslims who are not at war with Muslims. Remember: Greeting salam is sunnah, whereas replying to salam is wajib. You can greet back non-Muslims in the same words which
they have used.
Hope
this will help you in your life.
Wassalam
