Our past with Vizslas
We were fortunate enough to own, raise, train and live with three of Carol's dogs.  While we have since traveled down a different road and are no long involved in the Vizsla world, we will always cherish the memories of the dogs we knew and the friends we made at specialties, hunt tests, and field trials.
In the spring of 1982 we bought our first purebred puppy, a Vizlsla named Devon, from Carol Phelps of Szizlin' Vizslas.  Carol and Devon introduced us to the world of AKC dog sports, showing, and the endless possibilities to pursue with canine companions.  To call it a life-changing experience would be an understatement.

My first show dog, first obedience dog, first field tiral dog, first Agility dog, first Utility Dog.  I can't imagine a dog I would have rather started in purebred dog sports with.  Devon still lives with us at 13 years and going strong.

Reba was mine from the moment she was born, and she knew it.  She loved me intensly, with an obsession.  She carried that intensity into her field work, the obedience ring, the show ring,  and into agility competitions, and we always had high scores and positive comments from observers.  It was that intensity that I found hard to deal with in a show setting, and eventually, as our canine population grew, at home.  Reba now lives happily with a family in New Jersey where she is the center of attention and Princess of her domain that she always new she was.

Wyatt came into our lives just as we started getting involved with Collies and herding.  He was the right dog at the wrong time -- the first dog I handled to a Conformation Championship, and a sought-after stud dog, he had potential in the field as well as other performance events, but I was busy getting addicted to herding.  As the number of Collies in the household increased, Wyatt's happiness decreased, and I decided to let his breeder find a more suitable Vizsla home for him.  He now lives a priveledged life with Iva Fisher.
