Ostara is the second of fertility festivals.  It is the time that day and night are equal and it is opposite of the Mabon.  Ostara is the celebration of balance and the Goddess of Fertility, Eostre.  Eostre is seen standing among the flowers of Spring.  She holds an egg in her hand and bunnies play at her feet.  This is the season of new life.  A season of love and learning.  Many witches treat themselves to a new broom at this time of year and naming ceremonies are performed.  The Spring Equinox is also a time for new beginnings of the self.  Its a good time to plant the seeds of learning and start growing the dreams and goals from Yule.  This is a good time to say goodbye to the past.  A simple ceremony can be performed to say goodbye to the Winter Lord.  Light purple candles and burn Patchouli and before going to bed blow out the candles and wish the Winter Lord well during his slumber.
