Projects
Undertaken
v Speech
Processing and Compression Using Wavelet Transform.
SASKEN,
In this
project a Wavelet based speech coder is implemented in software using Matlab 6’s Wavelet Toolbox. The major issues concerning the design of this
Wavelet based speech coder are choosing optimal wavelets for speech signals,
decomposition level in the DWT, thresholding criteria for coefficient
truncation and efficient encoding of truncated coefficients. The Project was
undertaken with the guidance of Dr.Poonacha.
v Brain Image
Classification Using Wavelet Transform / Fast
Indian
In this
project classification of Brain Images obtained from MRI data, into tumoured
and normal brain is got through Support Vector Machine and the preprocessing is
done using Wavelet based approach (Db4
wavelet). In another method Fast ICA is being used for the preprocessing
and is implemented in software using Matlab
6. This has been even extended to EEG
data for the classification. The project was guided by Prof. L M Patnaik.
Academic Projects
v Voice over Internet Protocol.
(April-July 2002)
The project was chosen to design efficient software
for communicating over the Internet. For this we have used LPC (Linear
Predictor Corrector) CODEC and Wavelet Transforms. This project aimed at
denoising the signal, compressing the data, transmission over the packet
network and finally decompressing the signal.
v Software
Implementation for the Design of an Electrical Transmission Line.
(Feb-July 2001)
This was done in college as per the partial fulfillment of course in VI Sem. In this project, we implemented basic designing of transmission lines taking various parameters, the demand, the supply and the distance. The software is designed using Java Applet Programming and efficiently calculates the losses that occur in the H.V Line, size of the conductor, power delivered, and the efficiency of the line.
