Good Girl

The ultimate of the talking birds. Not only capable of mimicking words and sounds but able to speak in any language and many voices. And even more remarkable will use appropriate words and phrases at the appropriate time and in context.

Congo African Greys, also referred to as CAG's, are medium sized parrots. They are basically gray with a bright red tail, white skin around the eyes and a black beak. They are beautiful, very sophisticated, intelligent creatures.

Congo Greys enjoy being in the busiest room of the house where they can be a part of all the activities. They will sit and listen and watch all that is happening and learn from observing. They are usually fairly quiet birds when strangers are around. As they mature and learn to talk they will take charge of the household instructing the dog to go lay down or telling the children not to run in the house, even answer the phone with a "Hello!" as soon as it rings!

Our first introduction to these fine birds came from Christina Edwards, our Pastor's wife, who had two African Greys. One was an African Grey Congo and the other was an African Grey Timneh. The Timnehs are slightly smaller and their plummage is almost exactly the same as the Congo except the tail feathers are darker and more of a maroon color.

Christina had a relative who wanted to sell Good Girl because they had moved to an apartment. We bought her and consider her one of the best bargains we ever found.

African Greys are considered the best talkers of all parrots. Good Girl more than lives up to this reputation!
