LAB: hey!
JA:  Hey, Leslie, ok what's your interview all about?
LAB: My research is all about the Alaska Aces Internet-based fans club, your
arriba..
LAB: When did you get first aware you have an interactive club?
JA:  Oh, maybe after two months after I joined the PBA, I think that was
March.
LAB: Who told you about the club?
JA:  Some fans and my mom, she get to use the computer often.
LAB: What do you think are the advantages and disadvantages, if any, of such
e-group?
JA:  I dont think theres any disadvantage, all are positive, you know. You
get along with such people, I can spend lot more time with fans, be able to thank
them for their support, Im able to interact with them fast, I also can
communicate with my family, who also joined the club. It also enables to bridge
the gap among players, family and fans.
LAB: Do you have Internet connection at home?
JA:  Yes, I have but its not grounded, and were planning to move house, so my
Internet connection is (I cant remember what exactly he said)
LAB: How often do you check the website?
JA:  times a week, whenever I can, but now, since my internet aint ok, I
try to check if Im in the office, or whatever so I also dont get to post.
LAB: If you remember, what was your first posted message all about?
JA:  Well, my first message to them was basically letting them know it was me
who posted, say hello to all of them. You know, I used a nickname there, telling
its me whos using the nickname, saying hi to them, thanked them for their
support of the team, and for me, and I also told them of our last game and our
next scheduled game, and hoped they will be able to see the game live. I also
told them that if ever they have questions for me, dont hesitate to ask, and
Ill try to answer it.
LAB: Who was the first fan who replied to your first message?
JA:  I think it was Naomi, she was I think the last one who posted a message
before me.
LAB: What do you usually tell them when you post messages?
JA:  Oh, well, first I thank them for their support, for watching our practice
games, and live games, I also try to greet my mom and family members back home
and all the fans.
LAB: And when you read your fans messages, how do you react?
JA:  I react differently, depending on what I read. Its always fun to read
their mails, Im able to know stuffs about them, and they, from me.
LAB: You held a party for your fans last year, right? How was it?
JA:  Oh, yeah, well, it turned out good, we ate a lot, chat with each other,
you know, just have fun at that time.
LAB: How long was the preparation for the event?
JA:  About two weeks.
LAB: How close are you with your fans?
JA:  Were really close, see, were like family, you know.
LAB: Do you set any limitations on the information you tell them?
JA:  No, not at all, I dont set any limitations, like we just chat on
different things, anything under the sun, whatever comes up.
LAB: Do you remind them on money matters, family, or school?
JA:  Well, I ask them when we see each other like "where are you kids? Wheres
my bracelet? (Laughs... goof off) No, like what Ive said, on those things I post,
I tell them about our previous games and upcoming games. How thankful I am for
their support.
LAB: Ok about the PBA, when Kenneth Duremdes was traded to Sta. Lucia, what do
you felt then?
JA:  I was really shocked, before the draft started we were already told about
the trade, it came a shock to me. We knew that trades like that will arise, but
not that of Kenneth, its really surprising.
LAB: What are your expectations of the league, and the Alaska Aces this coming
season?
JA:  Well, I expect a lot, I mean, we have a new commissioner, we have lotsa
young rookies, we are a young team, so I expect the rookies to play well, show
off their capabilities, run fast, well on offense.
LAB: What are your expectations for the e-group and from your fans?
JA:  I really hope for their undying support (uttered with feelings, you can
just imagine!), you know, I expect a lot more cookies, milk chocolate chips, no
joking, I wish for their loyalty and continued support on us. Im also looking
forward to a new, bigger website with 10000 members, (ate Lyn: yeah, you said
when we reach 500, youll have a party for us at Rockwell!), whos that player
with over a thousand or ten thousand fans? Oh, well, whatever! When we reach
10000, well have a party along Sunset Blvd.! (laughs!)
LAB: Second to the last, how would you like to be remembered by your
fans?
JA:  Uhmm, a super athlete (ate Lyn: yeah, the most handsome player to
ever play!), hardworking player, and a loyal person.
LAB: Any last words or message for the fans?
JA:  We love yah all!
LAB: Ok thats it, thanks a lot! This would really help to my research! Thanks
john!
JA:  Oh, thats it? Ok, no problem, anything, leslie! (Taps my left knee, we
were sitting, Im on continental-de-kwatro seat!)
