Hagrid's Classroom

Lesson 2

Centaurs, Dragons, Dwarves, Elves, and Flobberworms
Welcome to yer second lesson! We have much more to cover than at other times, so I suggest that we behin now. We will start with the Centaurs. Now Centaurs are half man and half horse. They have the body and legs of a horse, and the chest, arms, and head of a man. They have two stomachs, one of a horse's and one for thier human half. Therefore, it takes them around four hours to eat one meal, as they first fill their man stomach and then graze on the succulent grasses to fill their second one. Centaurs are expert stargazers and tellers of the furture. In Greek myths, which we all know to be true, Centaurs often trained young gods. Moving on ter Dragons! Dragons traditionally live in hot, dry climates. However, you can always find one somewhere else. There are many species of dragons, one of the most rare being the Norwegian Ridgeback. Now, that we covered dragons, lets move on to Dwarves. Unlike the Dwarves in Snow White, with the exception of Grumpy, real Dwarves are often very irritable. They mostly keep themselves in thier mast caves below huge mountains, where they toil away at shaping their precoius metals and jewels they tend to come across. On to Elves, shall we? there are many types of Evles from Green Elves to Wood Elves to High Elves. All mostly reside in the forest and are green or browned skinned. Elves are known for thier mischeivious nature. Finally, on to Flobberworms. Flobberworms are brown, with a tan stripe around thier middle. Flobberworms are on of the few creatures that can be found anywhere, much like their less liked cousin, the earthworm. They have the amazing ability to act os if they are dead, but you can always be sure to tell they are still alive when there brown lines at there throat are still wavy. Well, that ends the second esson! Please fill out the Homework below and click Submit once. The listbox below is for what house you are in. Thanks for coming to class!
