A plant much valued by sorcerers because it shrieks when it is pulled out of the ground Also known as mandragora , it grows troughout the Mediteranean regions, North Africa, and Asia. It is a flamboyant plant, with purplish bell-shaped flowers and fleshy orange berries. The roots of a mandrake often resemble the body of a human male.
Drugs made from this plant include love potions, posons and narcotics.
It is not recomanded to cultivate them because of their supersonic shrieks which are deadly. Only experienced sorcerers should atempt mandrake-lifting. |
