A demon dwarf of Japanes waters whitch looks like a little green man with a tortoiseshell on his back and clawed webbed fingers and toes. He smells strongly like fish and on the crown oh his head there is a circular depression filled with water.
He lies in wait for people or other animals straying close to the watere's edge, drags them in and consumes them from the inside out
To avoid a kappa you must eather trow a cucumber carved with one's name and age in the water or wait for him so surface and then make a polite bow. He will return the bow and the water will pour out of the depression in his head, and he will be powerless. He will have to refill the depression by diving back into the water and people will have enought time to escape. |
