dhtml flyout menuby Al Sparber Popup-Flyout Menus are cool, save space and, if properly designed, make extremely intuitive navigation systems. So what's with the silly fishing quotation-parable? Well, the technique used to create this menu (as well as the dropdown menu in the previous project) is so surprisingly simple that we want to make sure it really, really sinks in. If you master this technique, you'll be able to popup, flyout, or dropdown anything you want, whenever you feel the urge. The secret is that all the really hard work has been done for you through the magic of Dreamweaver Extensions. As you work through this project, you're really part of a team. Beside you, in spirit, are Dreamweaver developers like Gerry Jacobsen, Massimo Foti, and Al Sparber. It Works Like This We have menu triggers and some of the triggers have arrows. The purpose is the same as in the dropdown menu project, except that these arrows point to the right and indicate that mousing over it will produce a sub-menu next to it. The other obvious difference is that our trigger images (the main menu headings) are oriented down the page, instead of across. Once again, the objective is to create an attractive menu with a clear and unambiguous purpose. |
