30 Jill and Kyle are alive, but they are not comfortable. This plan better work tomorrow. Cmon, Denby, lets go. I need my beauty sleep. The three walked out of the station together. In front, they paused to say good night because they were going in opposite directions. Diane pulled up her collar to ward off the chill in the midnight air. Diane, are you sure you dont want us to walk you home? Thanks, Danny. Ill be fine. Really. Diane touched his cheek, and he held her hand there a moment longer. She reached up and gave him a quick peck on the cheek, and turned to go. Wait, dont you have one of those for me, too? Denbys worried face was relaxed for a moment, even mischievous. Diane rolled her eyes and sighed. Okay, you can have one, too, since this was your plan. She reached up to kiss him, and at the last second he turned his face to meet her lips with his. They stayed there three beats longer than they should have, and didnt even hear Danny gasp. Diane felt bolts of electricity shooting out of her hair. Realizing who it was she was kissing, Diane pulled away first, and tried to slap Harry for sneaking that one in on her. This time, his reflexes were in much better shape, and he managed to raise his arm and duck in time. He let out a wicked little laugh. Denby, youre an asshole, she growled, and quickly turned to walk away. She didnt want Danny to see that her cheeks were bright red and burning, and that she was smiling in spite of herself. Denby, you miserable shit. Get moving, Danny was furious, and gave Denby a rough shove in the opposite direction. After rehashing some of the painful events in his life history with Diane, and that amazing kiss, Denby was feeling agitated. He could really use a drink. Under Dannys supervision, there was no way he was going to get his hands on one tonight. They continued walking, and came upon an all-night pharmacy. Sorenson, lets pull in here. I need some sundries for my stay at your pad. Denby, lets make it quick. Fine, no problem.
