No, you havent, Diane wasnt about to lie to Andy now.

Claire saw that Danny and Andy were calmer and more likely to care for Diane, so she got up, grabbed her coat and went out the door. To her surprise, Harry was waiting right outside. He was sitting on the ground, slumped against the wall next to Dannys door.

I fucked up, Claire.

No shit, she chuckled.

What am I going to do?

You could try apologizing.

Pointless. She deems that form of communication worthless. Says apologizing doesnt fix or change anything.

You could try making amends.

Oh, and which Step is that, o great St. Claire?

Harry, youre the asshole in this scenario. Not me.

Fine. In what way do you suggest I make amends?

Show up at a meeting.

No.

You asked. I answered. Want a different answer? Ask a different cousin.

Very funny. I suppose when youre finished quoting lines from Working Girl, youll start in on When a Man Loves a Woman.

I was thinking more like moving directly to Leaving Las Vegas next, Claire grinned.

Im waiting here till she comes out.

I dont recommend it.

I refuse to miss my opportunity to be the gallant, chivalrous, contrite gentleman.

Youre not gallant. Youre bagged. You stink. Youre a mess. And I mean that in the most loving way. Go home, Harry, Claire said in her most authoritative voice. She was an imposing, forceful woman, and Harry fumbled to his feet, in spite of himself.
